Also, WP works with local school districts to customize academic enrichment programs, such as “Summer STEM Week” for students in grades 4 – 12.

Transition Programs for Students with Disabilities
The innovative Academic School Year Transition Program coordinated in collaboration with the College of Education and Accessibility Resource Center provides school districts with a Career Path and Life Track Transition Program for students ages 18 to 26 who have moderate disabilities that impact their independence and learning. The program includes a summer academic experience at William Paterson University’s pre-college Youth Programs; and two tracks during the academic year:
  1. Learning Difference College Bound Track
  2. Career Path and Life Track

Industry Professional Certificate Programs
High School students who have met their graduation requirements as required by the school district can earn a career industry certificate program. These programs can be offered at the school district or the William Paterson University campus during the school day, summer break, Saturdays or after school based on the school district agreement. The Professional Certification courses are designed to enhance a student’s resume and offer an opportunity for students to gain entry-level jobs in the industry and enter directly into the workplace after high school graduation. The school district board of education reserves the right to approve all professional certifications.
