Stevens Diversity Day

We wanted to provide you with information on our upcoming Diversity Day at Stevens Institute of Technology that you could pass along to interested seniors who may want to join us for this on-campus event. Stevens attracts and admits an exceptionally interesting, increasingly diverse and multicultural group of students from around the world. We value this diversity and recognize the essential role it plays in contributing to a rich, vibrant and engaging campus culture. This event has particular focus on first generation college students, women and students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Diversity Day will be on-campus this year and registration is for students only so please encourage them to sign up by clicking on the link below.

On-Campus Diversity Day: October 29 at 9 am EST

During our on-campus event, students will have an opportunity to learn more about the ways in which we support diversity and inclusion on our campus, understand how to apply to Stevens, take a tour of our campus and interact with current students and staff.

Bentley University "Admission 101"

Greetings from Bentley University!

Our “Admission 101: Guiding you through the College Admission Process” series continues with a blog post on acing the college interview.

The college interview, whether in person or virtual, is a great opportunity for students to share more about themselves, and it then allows admission counselors to outline how their school might be a good match for them. We talked to the experts on our admission team to get their thoughts on what makes a winning interview, and what your students can do to stand out. Check it out today!

We hope this information, and our entire Admission 101 series, gives you another tool for helping your students’ college search stay on schedule. Thank you for all you do.

Scripps Howard Emerging Journalists Program at Elon University

Here’s your opportunity to start your journalism career before you graduate high school.

If you are curious about what it means to be a journalist, reporting and producing news that informs communities, the Scripps Howard Emerging Journalists Program at Elon University offers the ideal platform to explore your media interests.

Thanks to financial support from the Scripps Howard Foundation, Elon’s School of Communications has established a free, educational initiative to inspire high school students to embark on journalism careers.

The Elon initiative will engage at least 115 high school students from North Carolina and across the country, providing hands-on journalism experience. Through the program’s virtual Exposure component, students will participate this fall in six interactive learning sessions and build foundational journalism skills. Apply today.

High school juniors who successfully complete the Exposure component are invited to apply for a summer on-campus residential learning workshop. This Immersion is designed for 15-20 students and runs from June 20 – July 1, 2022, and the Emerging Journalists Program pays for students’ travel, lodging, meals and instructional materials.

Additionally, each student who completes the Immersion program will be assigned two mentors — an Elon communications student and a professional journalist — to help you identify, report and produce two multimedia stories during your senior year of high school.

At Elon, you’ll develop the necessary skills to tell ethical, accurate and compelling stories that audiences need and value.
