The Summer Immersion Program - High School Students

  • Who Can Apply: 9th – 12th grade students
  • What: Students can learn about a field-of-study or career pathway that interests them from anywhere in the world with one of our 21 incredible online institutes.
  • Where: The Summer Immersion Program will be hosting online programming only for Summer 2021.
  • Why: Students will have the unique opportunity to build relationships with Wake Forest University students who will serve as mentors throughout the week, hear from industry leading experts, be led by Wake’s world class faculty, and experience hands-on labs.

The Summer Exploration Program - Middle School Students

  • Who Can Apply: 6th – 8th grade students
  • What: Explore the world of STEM from anywhere in the world with one of our five STEM-themed online adventures.
  • Where: The Summer Exploration Program will be hosting online programming only for Summer 2021.
  • Why:Explorers will cultivate community with like-minded peers in a safe, online learning environment, and ignite their curiosity for STEM, while learning alongside Wake Forest faculty and staff, and receiving mentorship from Wake Forest staff and undergraduate students. 

The College LAUNCH for Leadership Program - Rising High School Juniors

  • Who Can Apply: Rising High School Juniors in Winston-Salem, NC, Charlotte, NC and the surrounding communities
  • What: A free, nine-month college prep, social justice, and leadership development program for high school juniors who have historically been excluded from higher education.
  • Where: At this time we anticipate operating virtually for at least a portion of our 2021 - 2022 program, pending future public health guidelines.
  • Why: Scholars will learn what it takes to break down the doors to higher education, build lasting relationships with students in their community, develop a critical understanding of historic and ongoing social injustices within their communities, and further grow their leadership skills.
