Becoming a Surgeon: Skills, Specialties, and Diseases is a new online course designed for high school students.

 Georgetown University

Georgetown University is offering a new online course on surgery

If you have a student who is intrigued with how surgeons save lives, Georgetown University’s Becoming a Surgeon: Skills, Specialties, and Diseases is an awesome challenge.

Students get a thorough introduction to the skills required to be a surgeon. They take a tour of the operating room and learn the makeup of an OR team. They’ll hear from specialists in the field: from abdominal surgeons to neuro, orthopedic, and plastic surgeons. They’ll even design a model of the abdomen and study major diseases that often require surgical intervention.

The course is led by Georgetown ‘s Dr. Rebecca Evangelista. If you have a student with a keen interest in pursuing a future in medicine, this course is a must.
