Greetings!
After a summer of creativity, reflection and growth we'd like to share with you a few opportunities Susquehanna University's Writers Institute has to offer high school students interested in creative writing.
Creative Writing Day On Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., we are hosting an exclusive event for high school student writers: Creative Writing Day. Students will participate in intimate, college-style workshops, receiving personalized feedback on their writing. Along with workshops, the event will feature an information session to learn all about Susquehanna University and our creative writing community. Students can register here! Virtual Creative Writing Day Also on Nov. 1, our interactive virtual Creative Writing Day will run from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EDT using the Zoom platform and will feature a special afternoon of college-style workshops and Q&A opportunities, all from the comfort of your own home. Students can register here! Apprentice Writer We are proud to launch the 39th volume of Apprentice Writer. Produced by our creative writing majors, this journal published work by outstanding high school writers. If you have students interested in publishing in our next issue, you can find submission guidelines here. Selected writers will be chosen by a published author to receive one of six prizes — $200 prizes will be awarded for Outstanding Writer in fiction, nonfiction and poetry, as well as $50 to runners-up in each genre!
The Princeton Review Susquehanna University has been recognized by The Princeton Review as one of the nation's best institutions for undergraduates. In its survey responses, Susquehanna students pointed to a variety of academic offerings that make Susquehanna stand out, including our "top-notch" creative writing program!
Let us know if you have questions — we look forward to meeting your high school writers.
