Rider University-Norm Brodsky Business Concept Competition

 







Do your students have ideas for innovative new businesses? Tell them to share their business concepts with Rider for a chance to win a full-tuition college scholarship or cash prizes!


The Norm Brodsky Business Concept Competition accepts new ideas from rising high school seniors, juniors and sophomores. The winner of the senior division receives a full four-year tuition scholarship to Rider University. Watch this video for to see a recap of last year’s competition. 

The application to the 2021-2022 concept competition is now available. Encourage your students to apply by November 7 to secure their entry. The live finale will be held on campus on January 29, 2022

The competition takes place in two divisions. Sophomores and juniors compete in the lower division while seniors compete in the higher division. All finalists (and family and friends) for both divisions are invited to the live finale and banquet.

Higher Senior Division: 

  • The winner of the senior pitch competition receives a full four-year tuition scholarship to Rider University.
  • Rising high school seniors must apply to the University under the non-binding early action plan by November 15 in order to be eligible for the live finale. Prior to submitting, please review Rider’s application requirements and guidelines

Lowerclassmen Division: 

  • The winner of the division will receive a cash prize and plaque.
  • The winner of the division will automatically be entered into the final business competition when the student is a high school senior.

The competition is sponsored by Norm Brodsky ’64, an alum with a creative and entrepreneurial mind just like your students. Norm is a long-time entrepreneur, the namesake of Rider’s Norm Brodsky College of Business who founded eight successful businesses including Citi Storage, the largest privately owned archive business in the country.

After a summer of creativity, reflection and growth we'd like to share with you a few opportunities Susquehanna University's Writers Institute has to offer high school students interested in creative writing.

Creative Writing Day
On Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., we are hosting an exclusive event for high school student writers: Creative Writing Day. Students will participate in intimate, college-style workshops, receiving personalized feedback on their writing. Along with workshops, the event will feature an information session to learn all about Susquehanna University and our creative writing community. Students can register here!

Virtual Creative Writing Day
Also on Nov. 1, our interactive virtual Creative Writing Day will run from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EDT using the Zoom platform and will feature a special afternoon of college-style workshops and Q&A opportunities, all from the comfort of your own home. Students can register here!

Apprentice Writer
We are proud to launch the 39th volume of Apprentice Writer. Produced by our creative writing majors, this journal published work by outstanding high school writers. If you have students interested in publishing in our next issue, you can find submission guidelines here. Selected writers will be chosen by a published author to receive one of six prizes — $200 prizes will be awarded for Outstanding Writer in fiction, nonfiction and poetry, as well as $50 to runners-up in each genre!

We are proud to offer high school programs that draw on  the strengths of NYU’s various schools and colleges. Whether it’s by earning college credit or strengthening artistic or professional skills in an intensive workshop, students will experience life at NYU, first hand. Many of our programs allow students to strengthen their academic portfolio, while others enhance performance and studio art experiences. 

Explore High School and Middle School Opportunities

NYU’s varied array of high school and middle school programs offer flexibility and options that can be tailored to your individual needs and schedule. We offer 6-week classes, 1-week classes, and everything in between!

Most residential programs are offered during the summer, however there are many opportunities to study at NYU on campus or online during the academic year. Application processes, requirements and deadlines are varied, as are housing and financial aid offerings.

Today's world is full of a lot of uncertainty and we know your college

search may be impacted by all the changes taking place.  We understand

the importance of finding new ways for students to connect with colleges and

universities when traditional high school visits and campus tours may not be happening.


We want you to explore the value of Catholic higher education

by connecting with as many of our National CCAA member colleges and universitiesas possible. To make that happen, we're hosting a variety of virtual college fairs and

events that will feature opportunities for you to join representatives from our

National CCAA member colleges and universities to virtually explore their programs,

majors, student life and more. The events are designed to allow you to gather

information about our participating member schools and to have your

questions answered.

During our virtual event, you will have the chance to learn about many

Join us for a second virtual program highlighting the value of Catholic

higher education. During this two-night event, you will have the chance to attend

presentations and panels hosted by admission staff members from 69 National

CCAA and JET member colleges and universities. These college experts will

discuss pertinent topics for high school students, parents and counselors. 

These sessions will take place via Zoom Webinar, so your camera and

microphone will be off, but you'll still have a chance to ask questions

of the admission representatives live during the event.
