The Summer Immersion Program at Wake Forest University is an immersive, week-long experience for rising high school sophomores, juniors, seniors and incoming college freshmen designed to provide an introduction to college life and the opportunity to explore a potential career pathway or field of study.

How to Apply:
To apply, encourage students to visitimmersion.summer.wfu.eduand complete the free, online application. The application requires a recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or principal, and the completion of two short essays. Applications are open and reviewed on a rolling admissions basis.

Where Learning Meets Passion


Summer Scholars is a two-week program on campus through which students participate in one of 24 diverse programs of study and earn a college credit. Here are some of our favorites!

Musical Theatre
Dive into key aspects of acting technique, scene analysis, musical idiom, movement, and vocal technique as you explore both the creative and analytical processes of musical theatre.

Christianity and the World Religions
Explore the great world religions from a historical and theological viewpoint, learning basic practices for a greater appreciation of the spiritual paths of other faiths.

Russia and the West
How do Russians view the West? Consider this complex question with a historical sweep that will range from the reign of Peter the Great (1682-1725) to the era of Putin and Trump.

Gender and Culture in American Society
Get an introduction to key themes in the interdisciplinary academic field of gender studies, focusing on how gender shapes—and is shaped by—popular and public cultures.

The 2020 PREFACE Program at Rensselaer


  
 



We are excited to share information with you about the 2020 PREFACE Program at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. PREFACE is a summer program for talented students who have been historically under-served in the areas of science, engineering and the technological fields, and who express a strong, early interest in pursuing careers in these areas. This year’s program will take place Sunday, June 28 through Saturday, July 11 on the Rensselaer campus in Troy, NY.

The PREFACE Program is for students who will be in either the 11th or 12th grade in the fall. Interested candidates should review the information on the PREFACE website and complete the online application.

Completed applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 27, 2020. Notifications will be made to accepted students in late April. Questions about the program should be directed to preface@rpi.edu.

Summer PreCollege at FDU



Fairleigh Dickinson University's Summer PreCollege Program.

FDU’s Pre-College Program for grades 10-12 exposes students to exciting academic and professional topics such as artificial intelligence and robotics, cyber security, finance, and the health sciences, among many others. Students get a jump start on college by earning 3 university credits for each course taken! 

Our Junior Pre-College Program for grades 7-9 gives students the opportunity to experience college life while taking rigorous, non-credit introductory courses. Topics offered cover diverse fields including engineering, lab chemistry, fashion design and creative writing. 

Both programs are offered on our Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck and Florham Campus in Madison in two sessions: July 6 to July 16 and July 20 to July 30. Classes are held Monday through Thursday in the morning and afternoon.

The School of The New York Times is pleased to announce our new Diverse Voices Scholarship Fund, which aims to improve availability, access and equity of learning opportunities for economically disadvantaged students. The Diverse Voices Scholarship Fund offers full-tuition scholarships to our Pre-College Programs including Summer AcademyGap Year and August Writers’ Workshop.

Students from all backgrounds who meet the economically disadvantaged eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply. If you believe you are a good candidate, apply now and tell us: How will you use your diverse voice to make a difference in your community or the world at large?

Summer Academy at Lehigh for High School Students


Premiering Summer 2020, we’re pleased to offer Lehigh University Summer Academy, a three-week pre-college residential program for rising 6th-11th grade students. We’re eager to share this information with you since it provides an exciting summer enrichment opportunity for your high school students.
Designed to help students achieve their full potential, Lehigh University Summer Academy offers innovative, thought-provoking and enriching course work, combined with learning that extends beyond the traditional classroom. Service-learning projects, leadership development, field trips and social events will also be an integral part of the program. Participants will build their “tool belt” for success both in school and life. Most importantly, students will make meaningful connections and create friendships that will last a lifetime!
Two three-week sessions are available this summer. Each session is limited to only 80 students to ensure a highly personal enrichment experience. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and financial assistance is available. Educators and school administrators are invited to nominate students for the program.

Now Accepting Applications for Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies Programs

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies strives to enhance the education of motivated, intellectually curious, pre-college students. We offer academic enrichment programs across a wide variety of disciplines—including arts, business, computer science, humanities, math, science, and more—allowing students to investigate advanced topics beyond the typical high school curriculum.

We are now accepting applications for all Summer 2020 programs!

Deadlines for most of our summer programs are in February, with some early round deadlines at the end of January. Admission is selective, and some financial aid is available.
  • Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes allows students currently in grades 8–11 to apply to a single-subject intensive course selected from a wide range of disciplines, and benefit from small class size and academically themed residences.
     
  • Stanford Summer Humanities Institute brings students in grades 10 and 11 together to explore the big questions at the heart of the humanities. Seminars are led by distinguished Stanford professors during this three-week residential program.
     
  • Stanford AI4ALL invites students in 9th grade to apply to this three-week residential summer program. Participants learn about topics in AI, partake in ongoing research at Stanford, and receive mentorship from professors, graduate students, and industry professionals. Young women and students from underrepresented and/or low-income backgrounds are particularly encouraged to apply.
     
  • Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC) students participate in a highly-selective program centered around lectures, guided research, and group problem-solving in advanced math topics. This four-week program is intended for an elite group of talented students in grades 10 and 11.
     
  • Stanford Pre-Collegiate University-Level Online Math and Physics offers 13 courses throughout the year, including a summer term for high school students, grades 9–12. Students earn Stanford University Continuing Studies credit.

How many students get the chance to build an architectural portfolio, create a business plan, meet executives from collegiate and professional sport administrations, all while earning six college credits? At UM, students explore their academic passion and consider their future career opportunities when they attend the University of Miami’s Summer Scholars program. High-achieving high school sophomores and juniors can gain an authentic college experience and earn six college credits in a variety of academic areas.For students looking to gain hands-on experience in a more condensed format, we also offer our incredible two-week, non-credit academy program for an intense experiential learning environment.

Priority Application Deadline is approaching: February 1, 2020. Students are encouraged to apply early for the best chance at admission in their first-choice program. Applications are processed on a rolling basis once complete.
Limited Scholarship Opportunities are available for students who qualify. To be considered, eligible applicants must complete both the Summer Scholars application and the scholarship application and submit supporting documents by the March 1 deadline.
