NYU Precollege Program! Applications now open!

 

Here's how NYU Precollege will set students on path to success:

• They will examine their current passions in courses aligned with their potential major and road test new ones by exploring novel topics and ideas while earning college credit they can apply toward their future degree.
• On our campus in NYC Greenwich Village - where there's so much to discover and do every day- they'll become part of a bold, diverse community and gain new perspectives on the world and themselves. 
• With NYC at their doorsteps, they'll have every opportunity to cultivate their independence and build their confidence in one of the world's most vibrant cities. 
• Through the College 101 workshop series, they'll prepare for the admission process.  

NYU Precollege is offered in the fall, spring, and the summer. The following dates are the program application deadlines for each term:

A scholarship is available for students participating in the summer program, and the scholarship application deadline is April 1, 2024.

UChicago: Summer’s Hot Spot

The University of Chicago’s summer pre-college programs draw from the multidisciplinary emphasis and intellectual richness of the College’s Core curriculum. We offer a variety of courses in diverse subject areas and engagement levels that match any motivated high school student. For Summer 2024, we will host both residential programs and online courses, including:

• Immersion: Through workshop discussions, research projects, and other activities, students live on campus and immerse themselves within a specific topic through three-week-long undergraduate-level courses for pre-college students designed by UChicago faculty and instructors. Course subjects include astrophysics, biotechnology, coding, data science, economics, literature, molecular engineering, political science, psychology, and more.
• Pre-College Connect: New this year! Students can take a remotely taught online course for two weeks and then cap off the course by spending one week on our campus to experience residential life and meet their classmates and instructor in person! 

Outside of the Enrichment Programs, all Summer Session students can apply for need-based financial aid, including full scholarships. Enrolled Summer Session students can participate in the Admissions Academy, a series of workshops that focus on the holistic admissions process to provide insights on admissions to highly selective colleges and universities and offer essay writing tips.

Students should apply by March 5th for the best selection of courses! To make it easier for you to share information with students, we've also created hand-outs to print and share so students can learn about either the Enrichment Programs or Summer Session generally. Research Opportunity for High School Students

Create an independent research paper. Work with top researchers.

 
The Lumiere Research Scholar Program helps high school students work one-on-one with a scholar on an independent research project. At the end of the program, you'll develop an independent research paper that you could use for college admissions or future studies. Our mentors are PhD scholars from top research universities such as Harvard, MIT,  Stanford, Yale, Duke and LSE. The program was founded by a Harvard & Oxford PhD who met as undergraduates at Harvard.

Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program for High School Students

I would like to alert you to a valuable academic opportunity that may be of interest to your students: the Lebanon Valley College Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program, which will be held at Lebanon Valley College from July 22-27, 2024!  We are happy to welcome rising High School freshmen-graduating seniors.   

 

The registration portal for the camp is now open and can be found at the Camp website (Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program).  Because space is limited, and we anticipate the program will fill quickly, we recommend that students submit their registration as soon as possible to secure a slot.  

 

The goal of the Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program is to provide a window into the scientific basis of human health.  Through lectures and hands-on laboratory investigations in state-of-the-art laboratories, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of disciplines such as molecular biology, neuroscience, physiology, pharmacology, immunology, and other medical sciences.  Students will learn how laboratory science can be translated into improved human health, and they will engage in investigative experiences that will allow them to apply their laboratory skills to real life problems.  In addition, students will interact with practicing professionals in fields such as medicine, physical therapy, toxicology, nursing and biomedical laboratory research. The Health and Biomedical Sciences camp will provide a fun, challenging and engaging college environment in which students will develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a biomedical scientist and health professional.
