Villanova NROTC Summer Seminar

Join Villanova University this summer for the NROTC Summer Seminar, a unique opportunity for rising high school seniors to experience life at Villanova and get a closer look at our highly regarded NROTC program!

This four-day program will provide young men and women with a better understanding of the balance between college life and NROTC commitment. Participants will gain valuable insight into the rigorous academic and physical fitness expectations required to obtain an NROTC scholarship, and learn about Villanova admission requirements.  

Dates: June 18-22

Cost: $625 (covers dorm, meals, and swag)

Deadline to apply: May 15, 2023

Location: Villanova University

Staff: Villanova students, NROTC midshipman, and newly commissioned Naval officers. NROTC staff will oversee camp.

If you are interested in competing for a Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Scholarship, this program might be the right place for you. Participants will leave with a better appreciation for Villanova academic programs and campus life, as well as information about other colleges and universities that have NROTC programs on their campuses. Applications are open for BU Summer Journalism Academy

It's that time when your students search for summer programs that tap into their interests and begin the next chapter in their lives of aligning them with their future career goals. 

At Boston University Summer Journalism Academy (BUSJ), students not only have an opportunity to have award-winning working journalists, they also have the chance to experience Boston University and the city of Boston. 
 
For 15 years, Boston University College of Communication has offered this program to teach high school students in-person and virtually core skills in news reporting, interviewing, and writing, focusing on hands-on experience in and around Boston and their home communities.

Our photojournalism program taught by former Boston Globe photographer, Steve Haines, prepares students, like Taylor Coester  (a BUSJ alum and now a BU student), to work alongside journalists in capturing the best photo for their stories. Parents and students enjoy hearing that no third-party vendors are involved, and they can experience an authentic pre-college experience at a college on their list.
  
For students living on-campus, they have the opportunity to:

• Meet with a Boston University's representative to discuss the college admissions process
• Explore what it's like living in a residence hall and studying in a university environment
• Experience Boston museums, historical sites, and neighborhoods during their free time

Students decide if they would like to attend our program in-person or virtually. Our three-week on-campus session starts June 26. Our two-week virtual sessions begin June 19, July 3, and July 17.

Saint Peter's University ACE Summer '23 Registration

Summer courses have been released and registration is open. Eligible and interested ACE students can complete the Summer 2023 ACE Registration Form here. Summer courses are fully online with no class meetings. Students can indicate if they would like to enroll in Session 1 or Session 2 or both. Rising Juniors (current sophomores) can ONLY participate in Session 2. 

Upcoming Terms:

Summer Session 1 - (May 22, 2023 to June 29, 2023). Last day to enroll is Friday, May 12th.

Summer Session 2 - (July 3, 2023 to August 10, 2023). Last day to enroll is Friday, June 23rd. 

Note:

• Students are asked to select 3 of their top choices for registration. They will be registered in order of preference and in order of availability in each course. Registration is first come, first serve. 
• This form serves as an official REQUEST for registration with Saint Peter's University through the Accelerated College Experience Program. 
• Students will be notified via email once registration has been completed. 
• Students are not considered registered until that point nor will they be charged for classes until registration is finalized by our staff via a confirmation email.

Greetings from the Pacific Summer High School Institute!

Attending a pre-college summer program can help students choose the right university to attend. At University of the Pacific, we have designed our summer institute with exactly this purpose in mind: to show your students what to expect when they live and learn on a university campus.

Our institute is a two-week residential, all-inclusive program for curious and motivated high school students. This high-quality educational and social experience immerses students in the rich learning environment of a nationally ranked university, focusing on cutting-edge topics that emphasize real-world issues. Your students can explore more than 50 academic and athletic programs in project-based learning activities taught in Pacific's labs, studios, fields, and makerspaces.

We invite you, your students and their families to learn more by joining any of our virtual Q&A sessions offered at 6 p.m. PT on Wednesdays through the spring. They can also request more information on programs they are most interested in.

Are your students looking for scholarship opportunities for culinary school?

Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts is proud to present the 2023 Young Escoffier High School Virtual Culinary Scholarship Competition! Contestants have the opportunity to compete for 30 scholarships totaling $65,000. All registered participants who submit photos of their work will be awarded a $500 scholarship toward an education at Escoffier.

Contestants will be asked to make a savory or sweet dish and upload a series of photos of their work for consideration.

The deadline for entry is March 31, 2023, by midnight CT.

Scholarship Competition Details and Eligibility:

​​​​​​This contest is open to high school students graduating in 2023 or 2024 (seniors or juniors) who are interested in attending Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts (Residential or Distance Learning Programs). Students must enroll and start by October 2023 if they are a 2023 high school graduate or by October 2024 if they are a 2024 high school graduate.

The contestant must be a minimum of 16 years of age before enrolling at Escoffier.

Scholarships Will Be Distributed As Follows:

1. All registered participants who submit photos will receive a $500 scholarship toward an education at Escoffier.**

2. Winners selected:

• 1st place – $3,000 Scholarship (10 chosen participants selected)
• 2nd place – $2,000 Scholarship (10 chosen participants selected)
• 3rd place – $1,500 Scholarship (10 chosen participants selected)

NJ NACAC College Fair - March 8th, Edison, NJ

Where: New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center

Representatives from more than 300 colleges and universities will participate in the Northern New Jersey National  College Fair which will be held at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center in Edison, NJ on Wednesday, March 8. The College Fair is sponsored by the National Asso­ciation for College Admission Counseling. This free event is open to all area students and parents.

 
Representatives from four-year colleges, two-year colleges, technical and business schools will be on hand to answer questions and offer information. 
 
The College Fair is a timesaving opportunity for students and parents to gather a lot of information at one time. In addition to asking questions, students and parents will be able to set up college interviews, pick up literature and learn about the various financial aid programs available.
