Here's what students say about our summer programs - University of Wisconsin-Madison

College life, lasting friendships, and academic challenge

At Badger Precollege, we work hard to create innovative programs for students who want to challenge their academic interests, learn more about the college experience and meet new friends. The exposure to higher education and an accepting and welcoming learning community is a transformative opportunity that can uniquely prepare students for academic and social success in high school and college.

Read what summer 2022 participants Diya, Rayna and Emily had to say about their Badger Precollege experience.

"I like building things and might be interested in Engineering as a career. My favorite part of the class has been building robots and then having them play soccer! I love being on campus and hope to go to Stanford or a similar university one day. I encourage you to try out ALP — it's been a good experience."

— Diya, Engineering Fundamentals & Design

"I took this class because I enjoy philosophy. The material is challenging in a good way! I'm also enjoying spending time with people again and getting my social skills back. You should definitely attend! It's a good way to get out of your comfort zone, a good academic experience, and you'll meet new people."

— Rayna, Introduction to Critical Reasoning

"One of my favorite parts has been a cold case project, where we're digging deep into a real unsolved case and coming up with our own theories. As a first-generation college student, my parents don't understand what is involved in going to college and living on campus. Now I'll be the expert on what I need, and can share that with my siblings, too."

— Emily, Forensic Science
