Summer Academy at UVM The University of Vermont's 4-week, academically rigorous, and fully online Summer Academy courses are designed exclusively for students who have completed 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. They are tailored to provide an in-depth exploration of a specific field of study in subjects ranging from journalism and photography to health and medicine.  For more information, encourage your students to read about how other High School Students Use Summer Academy Program for College Prep. All summer Pre-College programs at UVM (including our courses below) are offered to out-of-state students at 50% off academic year tuition rates. High school students are invited to take college courses for credit at UVM. Summer Pre-College courses provide an excellent opportunity for students to meet their academic goals and stand out to recruiters. Our entry-level courses—ranging from art history to wildlife biology—are appropriate for high school students, and are offered on campus, online, and in hybrid learning formats. UVM’s small class sizes are perfect for facilitating student–faculty interaction.
