Archaeology
Students have the unique opportunity to participate in an archaeological dig at Old College on campus. You will delve into the methods and theories archaeologists use to understand the past, learn what a career in archaeology entails, and discover ways to further explore this fascinating subject.
Christianity and the World Religions
A course that focuses on approaching the great world religions from a historical and theological viewpoint. In learning basic meditation practice, students will have a greater understanding of what is essential to Christian faith and practice, as well as a greater appreciation of the spiritual paths of other faiths.
Russia and the West
How do Russians view the West? Students seek to answer this complex question with a historical sweep that will range from the reign of Peter the Great (1682-1725), which marked Russia’s first widespread engagement with the West, to the present.
From Malcolm X to the Beatles
In this history course, students examine the historical roots of today’s Black Lives Matter, Dreamers, anti-globalization, environmentalist, and LGBTQ+ movements. Students walk away with a deeper appreciation of the wider concepts of democracy and activism frequently ignored in today’s high school history textbooks, as well as a broader understanding of the numerous consequences associated with repression and multiple forms of discrimination. |
