Pre-College online courses for summer @ Georgetown University

Summer is a perfect time for motivated high school students to start thinking about college. Georgetown University’s application period for summer is now open.

The online pre-college programs help students ages 13 and older explore their interests. Through participating in our courses, students can discover if an interest could lead to a college major or even a future career.

 

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship Application Now Open!

JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $35,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, and attend JRF’s annual multi-day "Mentoring and Leadership Conference" in New York City and other regional events throughout the year. 

JRF Staff will be hosting a Q&A session on Tuesday, November 28 to answer any questions you have about the application process. Drop by any time using this link between 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM ET.

 

Open House - Academy For Media Production

We have an Open House for Photo, Film & Audio majors her at the Academy For Media Production (AMP) on Saturday, November 11th from 10am-12pm.  Students can tour the campus, meet the faculty and watch demonstrations in our photo, video and audio studios.

Harvard Alum Internship Opportunity

Ladder Internships is a selective start-up internship program for high school students, founded and run by Harvard graduate students. In the program, students work 1-1 with supervisors from top start-ups to work on real-world projects in a real start-up environment. Our companies and supervisors come from Y Combinator, Harvard iLabs, Wharton, Google, Microsoft, and McKinsey & Company.

No prior working experience is required. The application deadline for the Winter cohort is November 26, here is the brochure and the application link.  

High School Healthcare Careers Discovery Program

The Institute for Simulation Learning located at Holy Name Medical Center is excited to announce the application period for our Healthcare Careers Discovery Program will be opening soon! We are proud to offer a fantastic summer program for High School students who may be thinking of careers in healthcare.  It's a great way to peek behind the curtain to see if healthcare is a field that you really like before committing to a nursing or pre-med program in college.  

The Healthcare Careers Discovery Program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in interactive learning experiences in our Simulation Center.  During the week-long summer session, learners participate in a combination of workshops and simulation scenarios exposing them to a variety of clinical skills and healthcare professions.

Please share with this your students as well as your Science faculty who may be able to identify students who would be interested.  Only 12 students are accepted for each session so it fills up quickly.  Registration is set to open in December!
