Hello!   The Association for Pre-College Program Directors is proud to present the 2021 Summer Pre-College Program Fairs, a series of virtual events that provide students and their families the opportunity to learn about academic summer programs at top US college and universities.   Representatives from Johns Hopkins Engineering  (Explore Engineering Innovation and Biomedical Engineering Innovation) will be at the fairs on: Wednesday, February 3, 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm EST Registration is now open Saturday, February 20 11:00 am - 1:30 pm EST Registration is now open Wednesday, March 3, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST Saturday, April 10, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm EST At each fair, attendees may:  Visit virtual booths, where you can ask questions via text or video chat with summer program representatives. View helpful webinars on how to choose a summer program, how to strengthen your application, how to make the most out of your summer program experience. Registration is FREE to attendees.  Notre Dame Global Scholars Program

We have added new online course options and class meeting times to our Global Scholars roster for Spring 2021! Learn about the economics of international trade, transitional justice, art history, environmental conservation, and modern political leadership from a global perspective. Notre Dame faculty teach from our Latin America, Rome, London, and Ireland Global Gateways. New course time slots include evenings during the week and weekend hours to accommodate a global student cohort.  Global Scholars Program Dates: March 15 - April 24, 2021 Courses run for six weeks and are taught by Notre Dame International faculty Now offering 13 online course options throughout the week and weekends  Students meet virtually as a class each week and collaborate in small groups Earn one college credit upon completion of the program

Summer Pre-College Programs in the Fine Arts

Carnegie Mellon's Pre-College Programs in the fine arts are six-week residential experiences that provide high school students with the opportunity to develop their skills in a conservatory or studio setting. For years, Carnegie Mellon has been recognized for the quality of education that is provided within our College of Fine Arts. Through the Pre-College program, high school students have access to this instruction and mentorship from full-time faculty members. Our summer Pre-College program options in the fine arts include the following: Architecture, provides students architectural experience within the studio, supported by integrated coursework in analog drawing, digital media, seminars and workshops. Art, where students will hone their craft through challenging courses, critique, workshops, and portfolio development. Design, for students who would like to receive a foundation of Design skills through studio learning, lectures, and critiques. Drama, for students who would like to build their audition repertoire and portfolio with acclaimed faculty. Music, where students participate in a conservatory-style curriculum and experience life within a research university. Students may apply for the program here. Attention Freshmen!!

The W.E.B. Du Bois Scholars Institute at Princeton University has expanded the Accelerated Learning Academy (ALA) STEM program to include 8th & 9th graders! This year in light of COVID-19, the program will be online, yet will still maintain forms of interactivity, STEM activities, discussions and student engagement! We strongly encourage your best and brightest 8th and 9th graders who have demonstrated an interest in STEM to apply for the online program by February 3rd.

The W.E.B. Du Bois Scholars Institute is a leadership development organization for adolescents and secondary students. Since its inception in 1988, the Institute has provided extensive leadership, scholarship and community service training with the goal of developing a cadre of activist scholars-leaders who excel both academically and professionally. Through rigorous university-level courses and guidance, the Institute aims to help youth develop to their fullest capacities so that they can better serve others.

 

Applications from your high-achieving 8th and 9th graders with an interest in STEM courses are welcomed.  The application and supporting materials deadline is  February 3, 2021. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage students to apply as early as possible.

AI Scholars 2021 Live Online

AI Scholars Live Online is a 10 session (25-hour) program that exposes high school students to fundamental AI concepts and guides them to build a socially impactful project. Taught by our team of graduate students from Stanford University, students receive a personalized learning experience in small groups with a student-teacher ratio of 4:1.
